Experience
HDLV - USA
Administrative Assistant and Shift Manager, June 2014 - Present At HDLV, I'm an active participant in a growing business and brand. Brought on as a supervisor and admin assistant, I am responsible for making sure employees show up to scheduled shifts on time. Most days I'm the first one at the kiosk for opening, and I handle morning customers. I have expanded my role by designing and executing a new custom order for for the company's website, and developing two new systems, one for employee scheduling, and another for coordinating communication between employees and management. |
American Cinematheque
Volunteer, August 2013 - Present Cinematheque volunteers play many different roles, from ushers and ticket-takers to bartenders and caterers. At the Cinematheque, I've been all four, expanding my customer service skills and learning how to put on exceptional events at multiple stages. When a problem arises during an event, I'm one of the first to volunteer my help, no matter how tough it may seem. |
UCLA Fund
Caller, September 2012 - March 2014 My time at the UCLA Fund Call Center was invaluable, teaching me about marketing, non-profits, and fundraising. As a public university where only 7% of operating costs are publicly covered, fundraising is vital to sustain many programs at UCLA. This pressure means the turnover rate at the Call Center is very high, with few callers lasting a month, let alone one entire quarter. I stayed for over 1½ years. In that time I participated in various important calling campaigns, like the Blue and Gold Challenge in both 2012 and 2013, which help secure larger gifts from alumni donors. In the 2013 Challenge I earned "Most Valuable Caller" for convincing an unemployed alum to give $25. |
Shoreline Entertainment
Acquisitions Intern, March 2013 - June 2013 Although short, I learned a lot at Shoreline, one of the oldest sales agencies in Hollywood (going over 20 years). As a small company, interns are heavily involved in operations. I communicated daily with CEO Morris Ruskin and Director of Acquisitions Melody Djavadi, although I was mostly self-directed in seeking out new movies for acquisition, where I personally brought in more "screeners" than all of the other interns combined. Besides being the front-line communication between filmmakers and the company, I also covered scripts, with an average turnover time of 2.5 hours per script, and my coverage received high praise from Mr. Ruskin as thorough and well-balanced. |
